Rolling a Monk in Path of Exile 2 hits a bit differently from the older click-and-clear routine. You're not just planting your feet and trading blows. You're stepping in, cracking skulls with a staff, then getting out before the floor turns ugly. Act 1 teaches that lesson pretty quickly. The new Uncut Skill Gem system helps a lot, too, because you're not stuck waiting for the game to hand you the one gem you actually wanted. Early Level 1 gems let you shape your setup, while later drops around places like the Red Vale push you to make harder choices. Sometimes the smart move is grabbing a new tool. Surviving The Rotten Druid

The Rotten Druid is a nasty Act 1 check for Monk players who haven't learned to move yet. Stand still and you'll pay for it. His poison spores and fungal patches can chew through your life faster than expected, and the arena gets messy if you're slow to react. Dash is your lifeline here, but don't spam it blindly. Move through safe gaps, watch his cast animations, and punish him when he's locked into a longer action. If you can line up stun pressure during those windows, the fight becomes far less chaotic. It still isn't free, but it feels fair once you stop rushing.

Staff upgrades and early choices

Your Quarterstaff is the centre of the whole setup, so treat weapon upgrades as a priority rather than an afterthought. Dexterity helps with accuracy and requirements, and a Jade Amulet can solve problems before they become annoying. The Salvage Bench is worth using, too. Don't let junk gear sit around when it can become material for better progress.
